Mormon Quotes

" Many times what he wants for us, because it involves change in what we are and what we do, is not something we readily want to hear or accept. That’s one of the ways you know it is coming from heaven. If all of your answers are exactly what you want, you’re giving yourself some of those answers." - David Bednar ---

Contradictions

---- : http://packham.n4m.org/contra.htm Last revision: July 15, 2018 Major Contradictions in Mormonism (plus some minor ones) Compiled by Richard Packham Why are contradictions important?      Contradictions are a mark of falseness. If two statements contradict each other, then one of them must be false. If both statements come from the same person, then the suspicion must arise that the person is lying (or at least grossly mistaken) in one of them, or perhaps both.      If both of the contradictory statements are supposed to be from God, or from God's spokesman (a prophet or a scripture) then we are justified in considering this supposed spokesman to be fraudulent, since God is not supposed to lie or to make contradictory statements. Most aspects of a covenant life are lived in the tense space between contrary ideas that are equally vali...

Comfy_Guy · 19 hr. ago Without getting into the weeds, Christians denominations have to accept the Nicene Creed in order to be Christian. Mormonism reject it. So.... 2 Reply Share level 2 Ravenous_Goat · 18 hr. ago So there were no Christians for the first 300 years AD? Also, what about all the Aryans, Gnostics, etc who did not follow the creed, let alone the millions of Christians since then (including today) to whom the Nicene Creed makes no sense? 1 Reply Share level 3 Select_Gur_2433 · 15 hr. ago It's not quite that simple, though I think it's a good, valid question. Many Christians may not get this, but those who are aware of historical theology and its implications do. You may be one of those who thinks this is all nonsense and silly quibbling, but I can try to give you an explanation from an orthodox point of view. The issue is not an necessarily an individual being aware of or correctly understanding the Nicene Creed or the Trinity. But in the NT (particularly Galatia...
